Abstract

450,691. Wick burners. SCANLAN, J., Albert Lamp Works, Bracebridge Street, Birmingham. Jan. 27, 1936, No. 2617/35. [Class 75 (i)] A wick burner suitable for heating chicken houses, incubators, cookers, &c. is fitted with a flame-control member 3 carried by a lever 6 which is pivoted to a pillar 7 on the oil tank and is operated by a member 8 expanding or contracting with temperature variations. The member 8 is carried by an adjustable screwed plug 9a on the oil tank and consists of a chamber formed with corrugated upper and lower surfaces and containing ether. The lever 6 comprises two relatively sliding parts 6a, 6b. The flame-control member may consist of a sliding sleeve or movable side-plates.
