Abstract
450,660. Accelerometers. TAPLEY, W., Washington House, Redbridge, Hampshire. March 5, 1936, No. 6619. [Class 106 (iii)] [See also Group XX] A non-magnetic mass K is attached to the magnetized pendulum A of an instrument such as an accelerometer or gradient meter of the type described in Specification 21517/10, [Class 97 (ii)], for the purpose of causing the magnet poles B of the pendulum to take up under the action of gravity a position remote from external magnetic substances, e.g. the iron support J. The pendulum is enclosed in a liquid filled damping box B and an armature E geared to an indicating drum F or a pointer is caused to follow the pendulum by the magnet poles B.
