Abstract

344,967. Current meters. FREEDMAN, P., 70, Durley Road, Stoke Newington, London. Dec. 24, 1929, No. 39400. [Class 37.] Apparatus for determining the direction of a sound comprises a group of four sound receivers 4 located as shown and adapted to convert the sound impulses into electric current which is supplied through amplifiers 8, transformers 7, and rectifiers 9 to the four fixed coils 6 of an indicator instrument having for its moving system a permanent magnet 5 actuating a pointer 10, which may be solid or a beam of light. The fixed and moving systems may be interchanged. A modified indicator is described employing four fixed and four moving coils spaced about a vertical axis.
