Abstract

720,223. Indicating liquid levels. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER. July 10, 1952, No. 17452/52. Class 123 (1). A level indicator for liquid in a tank 1 comprises a float 4 having an upstanding rod 5 terminating in a magnetic body 6 which is movable within a casing 3 supported by the cover 2 of said tank. The casing 3 is preferably of non- magnetizable material and has an associated scale provided with a number of pointers 8 which are of magnetic or magnetizable material, arranged one above another, and are eccentrically pivoted so as to turn in the direction of the magnet 6 when approached by the latter. The pointer scale is preferably graduated. The body 6 may be of magnetizable material, in which case the pointers 8 are made as magnets.
