477,046. Counting-apparatus. BRAD. DOCK, T. C., and METERS, Ltd. June 22, 1936, No. 17336. [Class 106 (i)] In a dry gas-meter an indicator, additional to the usual counting mechanism, is provided to verify that the meter is working on a very light load, e.g., supplying gas to a gas-heated refrigerating apparatus. For this purpose a rotatable indicating element is mounted on the outside of the casing and the element follows by magnetic interaction the movements of a comparatively fastmoving member, such as the tangent arm, of the meter mechanism. The adjacent wall of the casing is made of non-magnetic material, such as brass, and the tangent arm may carry a permanent magnet of cobalt steel and act upon a compass needle placed on the casing. In an alternative arrangement the member on the tangent arm may be of magnetizable material and the indicator may comprise a freely rotatable magnetic needle.
