Abstract
450,421. Vehicle &c. lamps. PARROTT, P. G., Beech House, Bollington, near Macclesfield. March 6, 1935, No. 7075. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] A vehicle or like lamp comprises a source of light, a rear reflector adapted to direct rays through glasses or lenses at the front and sides of the lamp casing, a pyramidal or other front reflector adapted to direct rays through the front of said casing, and means for focusing the rays passing through the sides of said casing. In the form shown, a substantially rectangular casing 2 is fitted with square front and side stepped or prismatic glasses or lenses 3, 4, 4<1>, an electric lamp bulb 20, a substantially pyramidal front reflector 15, and a rear reflector 12 having concave surfaces 13, 14. The side lenses 4, 41 are carried by members 7, 71 having horizontal flanges 8, 8<1> and vertical flanges 9, 9<1> which slidably fit within substantially wedge-shaped hollow extensions 6, 61 on the sides of the casing 2, the lenses 4, 4<1> being held in any desired position by means of spring tongues 11, 11<1> engaging in any one of a series of slots 10, 101 in the vertical flanges 9, 9<1>. The pyramidal reflector 15 is secured in position by means of a spring clip 16, it is cut away at 19, 19<1> to clear the bulb 20, and it is formed with upwardly projecting members 25 to support the front end of a lid 21, the rear end of which rests on the reflector 12. The lid is secured in position by catches 26, 27 and the top of the casing 2 is closed by means of a cover 28 secured in position by catches. The bulb 20 is carried by the lid 21, it is adjustable vertically by means of its holder 24, and it is adjustable longitudinally of the casing 2 by means of a slot 22 in the lid and cover plates 23, 231. The front and sides of the lamp casing may be formed with box-like extensions adapted to receive removable holders for auxiliary lenses which may be placed close to, or spaced away from, the main front and side lenses.
