Abstract

450,292. Pipe joints. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd., and MILLER, A., Farringdon Street, London. Nov. 29, 1935, No. 33193. [Class 99 (i)] Pipes 1, 1 are jointed by bevelling their abutting ends at 6 to form a V-shaped annular groove to receive a seam of welding metal 7. The pipe ends are each provided, prior to welding, with an annular corrugation 2, and the portions 3 extending beyond the corrugations are made of greater internal diameter than the main portion of the pipe to locate a closelyfitting bush or ring 5. The joint is completed by flanges 9 which bear against the corrugations 2 and are connected by bolts. A joint between a pipe and a valve-box is also described.
