Abstract
449,476. Metal foil. RADO, L., 12, Dornacherstrasse, Basle, Switzerland. Dec. 24, 1934, No. 36946. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1933. [Class 83 (ii)] A metal foil strip, adapted to be reeled for storage, has a coating of a plastic material, which remains plastic, whereby the foil may be applied to articles for ornamenting the surface. The foil may have a varnish or lacquer layer on one or both sides before application of the adhesive. Adhesives having a rubber or resin base, and such as are used in medicinal plasters, may be employed. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, transparent or tinted lacquer, cellulose-derivative lacquers, and mixtures of lacquers may be employed. The materials may be applied by spraying, pouring, smearing, or by means of a mechanical distributer. Drying means such as a heated current of air, may be used, and a strip may be coated, dried, and reeled in a continuous operation. The foil may be embossed or printed before application of the adhesive. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 313,973 (as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts), [Class 83 (ii)], and 349,118.
