Abstract

449,367. Electrolytic condensers. PLESSEY CO., Ltd., Vicarage Lane, Ilford, Essex. July 4, 1935, No. 19166. Convention date, July 7, 1934. [Class 37] A mandrel has wound upon it an electrode of etched and film-formed wire having a spacing material wound thereon, impregnated with an electrolyte. In the example such an electrode 7 is wound together with a counter-electrode 6, which may be plain or also wound with a spacer and formed, on a mandrel 5, impregnated with electrolyte 8 and enclosed in a container 10. The electrodes are led out at opposite ends to serve as terminals. Modifications are described in which the spacing material is a tape of regenerated cellulose, the mandrel or the container serves as cathode, and, further, the wire is of flattened form. The construction may be used in wet condensers. Specifications 388,395 and 449,645 arc referred to.
