823,501. Electrolytic capacitors. MOCHI, E. G. Jan. 23, 1958 [March 23, 1957], No. 2252/58. Class 37. The anode of an electrolytic capacitor comprises a tantalum wire wound over with tantalum foil, and the cathode comprises a silver housing containing the anode and the electrolyte. In the embodiment described a tantalum wire 9, Fig. 3, and a strip of tantalum foil 8 are tightly wound to form an anode, Fig. 3a, the cathode and electrolyte surrounding it as shown in Fig. 4. The anode strip 8 may be engraved or grooved to ensure penetration of the electrolyte, and a low-loss factor.
