449,355. Thermionic generating circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and MEGAW, E. C. S., c/o General Electric Co., Ltd., Wembley, Middlesex. May 1, 1935, No. 12999. [Class 40 (v)] In order to offset the loss in efficiency which may arise from a slight asymmetry of the cathode 4, relative to the two anodes 2, 3 of a split-anode electron, the high-tension voltage applied to the nearer anode 2 is made less than that applied to the more-distant anode 3. The necessary drop in voltage is secured by the insertion of a variable resistance 13 in the lead from the H.T. source 11, 12 to the anode 2. The output circuit 5, 6 is tuned by a sliding bridge comprising a disc 8 and condensers 9, 1.
