Abstract

449,180. Oil engines. HESSELMAN MOTOR CORPORATION, Ltd., 56. Kingsway, London. Dec. 21, 1934, No. 36679. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1933. [Class 7 (iii)] In an engine in which jets of fuel are injected into an air charge rotating in a combustion chamber and the mixture is ignited by a sparking plug 5, the jets are simultaneously injected at different angles to the cylinder head and/or with different penetrative pressures. The jet 9 is projected in approximately the direction of rotation of the air which is admitted through a tangentially arranged pipe 6 ; it is inclined at a greater angle to the cylinder head and has a penetrative force less than the jet 10 injected in a direction more or less opposing the direction of rotation of the air. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the horizontal projection of the jet 9 makes a greater angle with the diameter of the cylinder through the fuel nozzle than the horizontal projection of the jet 10. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
