[Class 97 (i)] Projectors adapted for films of different types, without substitution of parts, have driving elements for feed claws or other intermittent film-feeding parts loosely mounted on their shafts, and means for alternatively coupling the driving elements to their shafts ; locking means may be provided to hold the disconnected elements stationary, and changes in the coupling may be effected by movement of the projector lamp, condenser, &c. Fig. 5 shows three cam discs 23, 23<1>, 23<11> loosely mounted on a shaft 21 for operating feed claws for films of different types passing across gate apertures arranged side by side. Coupling discs 24, 24<1>, 24<11> having teeth 25 to engage recesses in the discs 23 &c. are slidable on the shaft by forked levers 28, 28<1> 28<11>, against the action of springs 26, 32, and under the control of a slider 31. The slider, in the position shown, has a stop 33<11> causing the coupling disc 24<11> to be operative ; movement of the slider to the left causes a projection 33<1> to raise a rod 29 and couple tne disc 23<1> to the shaft, and further leftwise movement engages a stop 33 with the lever 28 to couple the disc 23. Braking shoes or the like may be provided for the uncoupled discs, and the slider 31 may be connected to a carriage carrying the lamp and optical system, and be laterally movable to position them in accordance with the film in use. The gate 15, Fig. 2, may have apertures 17, 17<1>, 17<11> in the same or parallel planes, and feed claw apertures 18. The sprockets 13. 14 may have parts of different diameters carrying teeth appropriate to the film threaded on to them, and pressure rollers in triplicate may be mounted on a common rocking frame. Each spool shaft 35, Fig. 6, may be axially displaceable in its bearings 37 and may be secured in three positions by a latch 39 alternatively engaging grooves 38. The spool may be held by a latch 40 against a sleeve 41 having a projection 44 engaging one of three shoulders 43 in accordance with the width of the spool.
