[Class 100 (ii)] A matrix for the production of indiarubber printing plates consists of two sheets of rubber g, i with an interposed layer h of soft resilient heatresisting material such as felt board. During the impression of the matrix by the forme e it is placed in a frame d interposed between the frame b carrying the forme and a cover plate c so as to limit the depth of impression. To make the plates from the matrix, the frames c and d are inverted, a sheet of rubber is placed on the matrix and pressed thereinto by a smooth pressure plate.
