Abstract
397,706. Plate heatexchangers. HOLSTEIN & KAPPERT MASCHINENFABRIK PHÍNIX GES., 20, Juchostrasse, Dortmund, Germany. Oct. 31, 1932, No. 30587. Convention date, Jan. 7. [Class 64 (iii).] A plate for heatexchange apparatus for liquids comprises a base g, Fig. 6, to the sides of which are secured sinuously-slotted sheets c of resilient or yieldable material such as rubber or lead. The plate is clamped between plates b to form fluidtight ducts d for the liquids. The sheets may be vulcanized, cast or moulded on to the base which is formed with apertures h, Fig. 10. The sheets may be moulded upon studs or rivets i, Fig. 12, and the compression of the sheets limited by stops m, Fig. 14, secured to the base. In a modification, the compression may be limited by clips 1, Fig. 17, secured to the edges of the base by screws.
