Abstract

447,220. Piston-rings. BLACHE, H. H., 24, Margrethevej, Copenhagen. Feb. 21, 1935, No. 5541. [Class 122 (i)] A piston-ring having its working face bevelled, facet ed &c. at 4 at an angle of 1-5‹ with the piston axis or either side of a cylindrical bearing surface 5 is provided with channels 6 on the pressure side providing access for working pressure to the back of the ring. The channels may be formed in the ring groove. Additional channels 7 may connect the surface 5 with the back of the ring to assist in relieving the groove pressure when the ring passes over ports in the cylinder wall and also to carry lubricant.
