576,792. Stuffing-boxes. RHODES, BRYDON & YOUATT, Ltd., YOUATT, C. S., and DOWNS J. M. May 26, 1944, No. 10246. [Class 122 (v)] Two sets a, b, of packing are housed in a casing c on either side of a ring portion d provided for access of lubricant, said casing being a sliding fit in a recess in a pump &c. cover and carrying gland and bush rings, f, j. One set of packing is compressed by the gland while the other is compressed by movement of the casing over the bush which shuts the bottom of the pump recess. The gland and casing may be independently adjustable. A groove is formed in the bush to facilitate removal.
