447,027. Universal joints. L01HKT, E. X., 11, Rue Le Chatelier, Paris. Jan. 31, 1936, No. 3018. Convention date, Aug. 14, 1935. [Class 80 (ii)] A universal shaft coupling comprises a double-flanged member 3 arranged between flanges 4, 4<1> on the ends of the shafts, the flanges 4, 4<1> being each formed with bosses 8 in which are mounted, through the intermediary of rubber bushes 7, radial pins 6, the flattened ends of which engage slots 13 in forks 12 formed on the flanges 11, 11<1> of the member 3. The bushes 7 adhere both to the bosses and to the pins. Rollers may be interposed between the ends of the pins 6 and the slots 13. The pins and forks may be made of nitrided steel.
