452,478. Universal joints. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES DE CHARLEROI, 91, Rue de l'Enseignement, Brussels. Feb. 5, 1936, No. 3501. Convention date, Feb. 18, 1935. [Class 80 (ii)] In a universal coupling between two shafts 1, 2 of the type comprising trunnions 6 secured to one shaft and having rollers 8 which can move axially in cups 4 secured to a disc 3 on the other shaft, the rollers are barrel-shaped and retained on the trunnions 6 by thrust bearings 9 secured to the trunnions. The extremities of the trunnions form parts of a spherical surface tangential to the bottom of the cups.
