Abstract

446,120. Hinges. BLOWER, A. H., and BLOWER, S. F., 34, Canal Street, Nottingham. Jan. 11, 1935, No. 962. [Class 65 (ii)] The leg A of a folding table or other article is mounted at the top on a pivot pin D carried by an attachment bracket E which has a part formed with an opening or notch E<3> to receive the free end of a leaf spring F fixed to the leg A when the leg is unfolded to hold it in this position. The upper end of the leg is spaced from the notched limb of the bracket E so that the spring F may be depressed to clear the notch E<3> and move inside the bracket E when the leg is rotated on its pivot. In the form shown the spring F is fixed at its lower end to the leg, but it may alternatively be fixed at its upper end and be mounted on the pivot pin D ; a flange F<1> on the spring gives rigidity in the locking position. The bracket E may be modified so that the leg may fold along a diagonal of the table top instead of along one side as shown.
