Abstract

445,726. Tables &c. WILSON, E. L., 94, Demesne Road, Wallington, Surrey, and WELLS, E. G., Temple Wood, South Park, Gerrard's Cross, Buckinghamshire. Nov. 21, 1935, No. 32341. [Class 52 (iii)] In a folding table or like article of the kind comprising, on its underside, a rotary member 7 whicn moves the four hinged legs 6 simultaneously, the stays 8 connecting the rotary member 7 and the legs 6 are fitted so that at all times they are in planes substantially parallel to or coincident with the planes in which the legs move ; the ends of the stays are cranked, as shown, to enable them to lie between the legs and the underside of the table. Preferably these cranked ends are fitted in slots 9 in the legs, in which they are secured loosely by pivots 10. The stays 8 consist of twisted metal strips. The rotary member 7 comprises fingers 14 moving in slotted metal parts 15 ; these fingers are loosely pivoted to the stays 8. The member 7 may be locked in position by a spring catch 17, or by other devices.
