[Class 139] A watch with concealable dial comprising a cylindrical outer case 1 with an opening 2 and a rotatable interior watch - supporting member 10 having part-cylindrical supporting surfaces 11, 11a is characterized by resilient restoring means 9, 14, 14<a> between the outer case and inner member which, after the dial has been exposed, restores the inner member to the position in which the dial is hidden. The watch is mounted in an inner case consisting of a parallelepipedon 10 to which are attached two part-cylindrical pieces 11, 11<a>. The outer protective casing consists of a cylinder 1 cut away at 2 to expose the dial and at 21 to house the winding stem. An end 3 welded to part 1 and an end 3<a>, slidable axially along part 1 by a pin-and-slot connection 20, 21<a>, complete the outer case. A journal 7 on the inner case 10 pivots in bearing 6 of end 3 by a ball 12. Sleeve 8 on end 3<a> has two pins 9 coacting with two helical grooves 14 on a plug 13 on the inner case 10. A helical spring 14<a> is attached at one end to a disc 17 which is keyed to sleeve 8 to prevent rotation, and at the other end to a disc 15 which has an offset 15<a> reaching into an opening 16 of the inner case 10. As the end 3<a> is pressed towards the other end 3 the pins 9 move axially and cause the inner case 10 to rotate to expose the dial at the opening 2. The spring 14<a> is further stressed and on release causes the end 3<a> to move outwardly and rotate the inner case backwardly to conceal the dial. In a modification, the outer case has two peripheral portions joining the edges 2, one of which is slotted to admit the winding stem.
