Winding-apparatus.-The spring a of clockwork mechanism is secured at its inner end to the winding spindle e and its outer end c is hooked over one end of an open circular spring d which bears frictionally against the inner surface of the barrel b so as to slip only when 'the spring a is fully wound up, thus preventing overwinding. This spring d may be provided with corrugations or the like which coact with corresponding members on the inner surface of the barrel. Fig. 3 shows the essential parts of Fig. 2 to a larger scale.
