[Classes 79 (iii) and 79 (iv)] In a vehicle with pivoted half - axles, the pivot of each half-axle 1 is situated near the centre line of the vehicle beyond an electric motor 2 which is mounted on and drives the half-axle, the pivot being formed on the inner cover 3 of the motor. In the construction shown, each motor cover is pivoted to a bracket 4 fixed to a central chassis frame member 5 which may be tubular or of I-section as shown. The two half-axles may pivot about a single pin mounted in an aperture in the frame 5. Specification 431,921 is referred to.
