Abstract

444,731. Kinematograph apparatus. WOOD, A., 16, Haslemere Avenue, West Ealing, London. July 8, 1935, No. 19523. [Class 97 (i)] In continuous-feed apparatus, the portion of the film being exposed is held flat and is moved about an axis parallel to its plane, compensation being effected by a reflector rotated about the said axis at half the angular velocity of the film. Fig. 1 shows spaced polygonal discs 1, carrying the margins of a film 8, and a mirror 2 rocked about the axis 4 of the discs by an arm 3 engaging a cam wheel 5. The discs 1. and cam wheel are connected by gearing 9, and the teeth of the cam wheel permit a quick return of the mirror. In a modification, Fig. 4, the arm 12 extending from the mirror 2 is a spring and is turned by successive engagement with detents on a wheel 13 rotated at half the speed of the discs 1. The arm 12 is disengaged from each detent in turn by a trip 20 and then returns to engage the next detent. An intermittent shutter may be provided or omitted.
