Abstract
443,996. Looms with automatic shuttle replenishment. MANUFACTURE DE MACHINES TEXTILES MATEX SOC.ANON., 6, Rue PoincarÚ, Mulhouse, Haut-Rhin, France. July 11, 1935, No. 19837. Convention date, July 12, 1934. [Classes 142 (i) and 142 (iii)] The stop lever 7 can be retained in three different positions. In one extreme position, wherein it is held bv a nose 22 on the framework, the loom is driven normally by a cone 3 controlled by a lever 4 and rod 6 from the lever 7, the cone 3 being driven by a belt &c., and engaging a cone 2 fast on the main shaft 1. In the other extreme position of the lever 7, the clutch 2, 3 is, as shown in Fig. 6, disengaged, the shaft 1 is stopped, but the shaft 11 controlling the shuttle changing mechanism is driven from the cone 3 by a dog clutch 8, 8<1> and chain gearing 9, 10. In the intermediate position, to which the lever 7 is moved by its spring 21 when it is displaced by the weft fork lever 25 upon weft breakage, both the dog clutch 8, 8<1> and the friction clutch 3, 4 are disengaged, as shown in Fig. 4, and the loom is stopped by a brake, the lever 7 being held in this position by an abutment &c. 24 on a feeler lever 23. When the weft is substantially exhausted, the lever 23 displaces the lever 7, which thereupon moves into its extreme left position as shown in Fig. 6, the abutment 24 being no longer in its path. The shaft 11 is thus rotated and a cam 12 moves a lever 13 so that a hooked lever 17 thereon engages a peg 18 on the stop lever, a spring 16 subsequently moving the lever 13 and causing it to return the stop lever 7 and clutch lever 4 to normal position, with the main shaft 1 driven, and the change shaft 11 stopped. The lever 17 is controlled by an adjustable screw 19.
