[Class 29] [See also Group XXVIII] The compression refrigerating-machine of a cabinet is housed in the removable door of the cabinet. The condenser 7, compressor 8, and the evaporator 9 are supported by a frame 3 secured by bolts 2 to the door, the evaporator compartment being separated from the compressor and condenser compartment by a heat-insulated partition 10. The air within the cabinet circulates through the evaporator compartment, while outside air passes through the other compartment. The evaporator includes ice trays surrounded by refrigerant supplied through a coiled pipe 25. The compressor includes an electric motor, the rotor 11, Fig. 5, of which is mounted upon the fixed cylinder 12, the piston being reciprocated by a plate cam 14 the periphery of which coacts with forks 15 carried by the rotor. The outer end of the piston, which is provided with a vapour inlet port, carries the plungers 17 of a lubricant pump. The piston may consist of an electromagnet.
