Abstract

442,939. Electric incandescent lamps with internal screens. DICKER, S. G. S., 20, Holborn, London.-(Naamlooze Vennootschap Splendor Gloeilampenfabriek ; Nymegen, Holland) July 16, 1934, No. 20827. [Class 39 (ii)] An electric incandescent lamp adapted more particularly for a motor car headlight is provided with two filaments 1, 2 which are located in planes normal to each other, the filament 2 being in a plane normal to the axis of the lamp and partly surrounded by a screen 4 mounted within the lamp. Both filaments are preferably V-shaped, the apex of filament 2 being connected to the screen. The main filament 1 may be arranged so that it is within the horizontal plane passing through the focus of a reflector co-operating with the lamp or; as shown, may be located below such plane. The filament 2 is preferably located behind the centre when a spherical bulb is used. The screen is preferably shovel-shaped, with walls which intercept rays directed forwardly and upwardly from the filament 2.
