[Class 110 (iii)] [See also Group XII] In steam generators of the kind through which the heating gases pass at high velocity, the blower 2 supplying air for combustion is driven solely by a steam turbine 3 disposed in series with and in front of the main turbine 4 or other steam user driving a generator 5. The pressure drop used up in the turbine 3 is obtained by correspondingly raising the boiler pressure above the working pressure of the main turbine or other steam user. A byepass pipe 6 controlled by a valve 7 allows more or less steam to flow past the turbine 3 for regulating purposes. Specification 407,158 is referred to.
