Abstract
440,393. Vaporizers. DUTHOIT, W. H., Winnipeg, and WALLACE, G. W., Transcona, both in Manitoba, Canada. March 22, 1934, No. 9059. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 24, 1934]. [Class 7 (iii)] Mixture from a carburetter 3 passes to the inlet manifold 1 through a conduit 7, of the form shown in Fig. 2, and enclosed in the exhaust manifold 2 to which the carburetter is bolted. The conduit 7 is traversed by exhaust passages 8 and has contracted portions formed by inwardly projecting walls 9, thus presenting large surfaces to the heating medium and baffling surfaces for the mixture. A conduit 10 similar to conduit 7 has its upper end open to atmosphere, passes through the exhaust manifold, is connected by a band 12 with the carburetter inlet 4 and serves for heating the air. A hit-and-miss valve 16 serves to admit cold air.
