Abstract

440,379. Golf clubs, mallets, &c. BOWSER, G. E., 9, Neville Road, and HARDING, W., 63, Laurel Road, both in Leicester. July 25, 1934, No. 21779. [Class 132 (ii)] The invention includes a golf club, mallet, &e. the head 3 of which is formed to receive one or more screwed studs 2, and a range of screwed studs the weights of which are varied by providing one or more of them with plain portions 2<a> of different diameter and/or length so that the studs may be interchangeably applied to the club &c. head. Fig. 5 shows a range of studs 2 ; the weights may be further varied by making the studs of different metals such as iron, steel, bronze, aluminium or aluminium alloys. The studs may be secured in position by adhesive or cement or by running lead or white metal into the holes and over the studs. The studs may be set in a balance weight at the back of the club.
