Abstract

438,979. Ladders. GILES, J. F., and GILES, J. R., 19, Kimberley Road, Boscombe, Hampshire. July 12, 1934, No. 20432. [Class 20 (ii)] A non-slipping strutting device for the feet of ladders is formed as an adjustable frame to fit various widths of ladder. The frame comprises tubular strut members A, A<1>, interconnected by pivoted diagonal bars A<2> having bolt and slot adjustments B, A<3> with the struts, the upper ends of which are provided with clamps C whereby the frame is fixed to the ladder. Retaining chains D are attached to each strut and to U-shaped clips E passed over the lower rungs of the ladder.
