Abstract

181,232. Westmoreland, A. J. May 27, 1921. Ladders.-A ladder cripple comprises a rectangular frame secured to the inner sides of the ladder strings by adjustable clips 5, 11, and pivoted notched and support bars 1, 6 respectively, the cross-bar 12 connecting the support bars engaging with the notches in the notched bars and being locked therein by clips 13. An extra cross-bar 14 with clips is also provided to connect the notched bars. Upper notches 16 are provided in the notch bars to receive the connecting-bar 12 when the cripple is collapsed. The clips 5, 11 are adjustable in slots 9<a> on the crossbars, so that any width of ladder string may be accommodated.
