[Class 100 (i)] In connection with sheetfeeding devices such as are described in Specification 427,041 in which suctiondevices and devices employ ing blasts of air under pressure are used, a single rotary valve is used to control the suction and the air blasts. The rotary member 3 of the valve is driven by a spider 5 on a shaft 6 driven from the printing-machine, and the member 3 rotates in a fixed casing 2 and is formed with at least two transverse passages 24, 25, 26 formed with ports 27, 28, 29 adapted to connect nipples 22, 23 leading to the suction and air blast nozzles respectively, with inlets 12, 14'and 13 connected to the low and high pressure sides of an air pump. The ports 28 connect the high pressure side alternately to vertical nozzles 23, and inclined nozzles 23 connected to a passage 21. Ports 31, 32 coact with passages 33, 34 leading to the atmosphere in order to cut off the suction in the nozzles 22 at the correct times. In a modification, the ports 31, 32 are modified so as to connect to the air pressure system instead of to atmosphere. The passages 33, 34 might be connected to the pressure system. The member 3 is held against longitudinal displacement by means of a cover plate 35 which also acts as a bearing for the shaft 6, and by a catch 36 which may be released to permit withdrawal of the member 3. The member 3 may be formed of separate cells which transmit motion from one cell to the next.
