Abstract

1428804 Sheet separating apparatus ADAMOVSKE STROJIRNY NARODNI PODNIK 29 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 25559/73 Heading B8R In a suction separating apparatus supplies of compressed air for the air blast nozzles acting on the edge of the pile and suction air for suckers 42 are directed through a valve comprising a rotary valve body 1 provided with air distribution channels such that in a first rotational position of the body the compressed air supply is directed through a mixing chamber in the valve body for the air blast nozzles and the vacuum acts on the suckers and in a second rotational position the pressure air flow is directed, downstream of the mixing chamber, to the suckers to cancel the suction effect thereof. A cam-operated linkage 60 is arranged to cause the suckers to lift the sheet from the pile and to cause insertion of an element 43 under the lifted sheet. Air from passages 44 in the element 43 provides an air cushion beneath the sheet as it is forwarded by the suckers to a printing machine.
