Abstract

438,347. Delivering measured quantities of aerated liquids. PARR, A. A., 225, Acton Lane, London. Sept. 16, 1935, No. 25661. [Class 106 (v)] Apparatus for dispensing measured quantities of aerated water or the like, comprises a measuring chamber 4 having at the bottom an outlet valve 18 and at the top an inlet valve 21 and a spring-loaded snift valve 22, the valves being operated from a lever 12 in such a way that when the lever is moved from the inlet position to the discharge position, the snift valve is opened before the outlet valve and serves first for snifting and then during discharge, for the inlet of air to the chamber. The valves are actuated by cams 15, 16 and 17 on a shaft 11 supported in bosses 5x at the sides of the chamber 4 and carrying at one end the lever 12. The spring loading of the snift valve is adjustable by means of a nut 24 and the capacity of the chamber 4 may be altered by the insertion of metal or other members. A counting mechanism, operated by the movement of the handle in one direction only, may be attached to the apparatus.
