438,328. Road-marking blocks. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST.-GOBAIN, CHAUNY, & CIREY, l<bis>, Place des Saussaies, Paris. April 30, 1935, No. 12877. Convention date, April 30, 1934. [Class 87 (i)] Glass road marking and paving blocks first refract and after internal reflection refract light back at a small angle to the road surface. The blocks are formed with a central ridge, a plane or part cylindrical outer face on each side of the ridge, and convex inner surfaces for internal reflection. Fig. 3 shows zenithal light incident on a flat face ; after internal reflection it is refracted outwardly through the same face and to the same side of the ridge. In Fig. 4, lenslike bosses D, D<1> form part of the focal surfaces of outer bosses C, C<1>, whereby rays from a car headlamp are refracted back along substantially the same path. The zenithal rays are refracted as in Fig. 1. The bosses may be cylindrical and parallel with the ridge.
