Abstract

437,136. Projection screens. WILSON, A. S., Holmewood, Fatfield, and WALTON, J., Lambton Park, Fence Houses, both in Durham. July 9, 1934, No. 20037. [Class 97 (i)] A screen is secured at its ends to a spring roller C, mounted on a base A, and to a bar B, and is held in the extended position by pivoted struts D, E, L, and the struts L are pivoted at N, fitted with compression springs S, and adapted to slide in collars pivoted at M to the struts E. The length of the struts L may be adjusted to vary the stretch of the screen and are fitted with stops to prevent their complete withdrawal through the collars. A bar R, formed of two telescopic portions, is pivoted at points P on the struts E and is secured to the base A through a pivoted strut Z to maintain the members A, B parallel to each other. The roller spindle, used for winding the spring, engages in a slot in a sleeve which can be rotated within a bracket by a detachable handle to adjust the tension of the spring ; the sleeve may be fixed to the bracket by a pin passing therethrough. The base A may form the bottom of a box, in which the rolled screen may be enclosed, the top of the box being formed by two hinged portions.
