Abstract
376,385. Projection screens. HUNTER, M. M., BLACKBURN, A., and NAGEL, H., 40, Doughty Street, London. April 16, 1931, No. 11251. [Class 97 (i).] One or more springs are provided, in association with the stretching device of a projection screen of the roller-blind type, to counteract the action of the screen-stretching spring while the screen is being extended. As shown, the screen B is attached at its lower end to a spring roller C in a box A, and at its upper end to the lid D of the box. The stretching device comprises pivoted links g, g<1> ; struts n, pivoted to the links g, carry rollers o sliding in guides p, and are anchored to the box by springs r. In a modification, the links g<1> are extended beyond the pivots connecting them to the links g, and springs extend between the ends of the extensions and the base of the box. In a further modification, a lazy-tongs connection between the lid and box has one arm fitted with a roller sliding in a guide in the box, and a spring extends between the roller and a fixed point in the box.
