435,599. Locking doors of refrigerators &c. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINERIEEN-EN APPARATEN FABRIEKEN MEAF, 30, Croeselaan, Utrecht, Holland. March 13, 1935, No. 7842. Convention date, Jan. 30. [Class 44] A door for a refrigerator &c. is arranged to pivot about either edge, the pivotal edge being locked against displacement from its mounting during the movement of the door by movable members which, upon actuation, directly effect both the release of one edge and the locking of the other edge. In one form the door pivots about either of two pairs of bolts 11 engaged by arms 7, 8 pivoted at 9 and adapted to be rocked by a handle 1 through linkwork 2, 4, 6, so that when either pair of bolts are withdrawn from the door frame, the other pair are locked against displacement. When the right-hand bolts are moved to releasing position, a pivoted segment 12 at the right side of the door is turned by the lower bolt by means of a pin 14, so that a slot 15 is displaced out of register with a pin 16 on the arm 7, thus preventing movement of the latter. Other means of rocking the arms 7, 8 are described.
