Abstract
Phosphites, pyrophosphites, e.g Na2H2P2O5, or hypophosphites, e.g. NaH2PO2 are added to cleansing and washing agents; the mixtures may be used to bleach, or to assist wetting and dispersion in dyeing or other treatment of, textiles, leather, and other materials. Agents specified are soaps, soda, alkali phosphates, borax or other borates, waterglass, alkali salts of sulphonated oils or sulphonated fatty alcohols, organic solvents, enzymes, superfatting agents, and scouring powders, e.g. sand. Phosphites specified are neutral or acid alkali phosphites, and phosphites of organic bases, e.g. triethanolamine, cyclohexylamine, aminopropandiol.ALSO:Phosphites, pyrophosphites, e.g Na2H2P2O5, or hypophosphites, e.g. NaH2PO2 are added to cleansing and washing agents; the mixtures may be used to bleach, or to assist wetting and dispersion in dyeing or other treatment of, textiles, leather, and other materials. Agents specified are soaps, soda, alkali phosphates, borax or other borates, waterglass, alkali salts of sulphonated oils or sulphonated fatty alcohols, organic solvents, enzymes, superfatting agents, and scouring powders such as sand. For example, a mixture of 10 lb. of sodium pyrophosphite with 60 lb. of the sodium salts of the sulphuric acid esters of higher fatty alcohols is used for washing silk or wool. Phosphites specified are neutral or acid alkali phosphites, and phosphites of organic bases, e.g. triethanolamine, cyclohexylamine, aminopropandiol.
