Abstract
435,050. Ventilators. MARSHALL, J., 11, Cogan Street, Pollokshaws, and GALBRAITH, A., 181, West Regent Street, both in Glasgow. March 16, 1934, Nos. 8926/34 and 5546/35. [Class 137] An exhaust ventilator comprises at its inlet end a number of juxtaposed convergent inlet passages 4 communicating with the enclosure and at its outlet end a series of arched baffles 6 which are arranged fan-wise at different angles to the vertical. The inlet passages may be arranged similar to those described in Specifications 283,258, [Class 137], 391,324, and 396,468. The outlet passage 5 is surmounted by arched baffles 6 and a vertically mounted baffle 6<a>. A flared portion 5<a> drains the moisture into a trough 8 from which it escapes through drainage holes 9. Flanges 6b are provided to prevent the entry of rain. One of the Provisional Specifications describes also the use at the outlet end of superimposed and slightly curved annuli, each being of slightly less diameter than the one below, the top being covered by a cap.
