Abstract

[Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii)] The combustion chamber consists of a solid of revolution, such as a sphere, cylinder or ellipsoid, formed in the cylinder head, and its mouth is covered by a roof plate 5 into which a plug 6 on the piston 1 enters, leaving a series of ports 7, or an elongated port on one side, through which air is forced to promote an orderly rotation in the combustion chamber. The roof plate is spaced from the cylinder head.
