Abstract
434,378. Perforating kinematograph films. WAHL, K., 47, Am Treptower Park, Treptow, Berlin. May 24, 1934, Nos. 15484 and 15485. Convention dates, Jan. 20 and April 19. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 18, 1934.] [Class 98 (ii)] [See also Group VIII] Apparatus for perforating a positive film in accordance with the perforations of the negative film comprises a perforator for the positive film, a gripper feed device for feeding the negative film and synchronously driven friction elements engaging the films for equalizing the displacements thereof. In the form shown, the positive film 42 is passed through a perforator 56, and over a roller 44 to the take-up spool 50. The negative film 41 passes over a roller 43, and a gripper feed device 55 to the take-up spool 59. The films are held on the rollers 44, 43 by elastic bands 48, 47 and the rollers are geared together to move in synchronism. In a modified form, the positive passes through a friction roll device and a perforator, and both films then pass between friction rollers and are then separated, the negative passing through a gripper feed device. The films are then passed together through a contact-printing machine.
