434,259. Dispensing beverages &c. CHARMAT, R., 72, Rue du Faubourg St. HonorÚ, Paris. Dec. 21, 1934, No. 36714. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1933. [Class 116] To reduce loss of gas during delivery, gas saturated liquids, which pass from a reserve container into an auxiliary container before being delivered to a glass, are caused to flow, from the time of leaving the reserve container to the time of reaching the glass, through a conduit of substantially constant crosssection. The liquid, such as a sparkling wine, may pass from a reserve container (not shown), through a pipe 3 and coil 11 to a double-ported cock 2, the liquid passing, in the illustrated position of the cock, to a coil 4, which, with the coil 11, is in a cooled chamber 10. The coil 4 constitutes a measuring chamber for the amount of liquid to be delivered to the glass 1. The upper end of the coil 4 is closed by a valve 6 when the coil is being charged, the valve being coupled by linkage 7, 8 to a lever 9 actuating the cock 2, so that on rotation of the cock to place the delivery pipe 5 into communication with the coil 4 the valve 6 is opened and the liquid flows by gravity into the glass. The ports, coils and delivery pipe are all of approximately constant cross-section. The coil of the measuring chamber has a slope of about 1 in 16.
