Abstract

433,830. Multi-ply fabrics. PATENTVERWERTUNG DR. M. GUNTHER GES., 18, Kopenicker Strasse, Berlin. Sept. 12, 1934, No. 26221. Convention date, April 7. [Class 142 (iv)] A thick woven fabric with a linen like surface comprises a multiply supporting layer consisting of two or more fabric layers or plies A, B, each having its own warp threads 8, 9, and 10, 11 and interwoven with ground wefts (not shown), a covering layer C consisting of weft threads 7 and warp threads 1 to 4 being interwoven with the supporting layer. All the warp thread 1-4 pass through the supporting layer and interweave therewith. Cushioning picks 6 are provided between the supporting and covering layers and/or between the separate plies A, B, which are held together wholly or partially by binding picks 5, 5<a>. The fabric is readily impregnable &c., and may be used for sail cloth, outer and under clothing and for washing articles.
