Abstract

550,668. Blankets; woven fabrics. BERG, G., LOWBEER, E. Sept. 13, 1941, No. 11738. [Class 142 (iv)] A blanket comprises two outer fabric layers A, B of blanket material and an intermediate web or layer C of binding material which is interwoven with the layers A. B at spaced lines D. E to form air pockets F. The outer layers A, B may be composed of loosely woven bulky yarn, and the intermediate layer comprising either wefts or warps may be of strong yarn woven in under tension as so to hold the pockets open. The layer C of wefts or warps is woven in along the lines D, E and floated across the pockets. A nap surface may be raised upon the bulky yams forming the outer layers A, B.
