433,659. Stop valves. MAcNICOLL, D., and COCKBURNS, Ltd., Clydesdale Engineering Works, Cardonald, Renfrewshire. May 25, 1934, No. 15609. [Class 135] Emergency control means for a stop valve of the type comprising an axially movable valve spindle 1 in screw-threaded engagement with a rotatable valve-operating nut member 3 comprises a piston 22 displaceable by fluid pressure to close the valve by means of a bifurcated lever and cam device 20, 18, 16 which moves the nut member 3 axially together with the valve spindle to close the valve (not shown), pins 14 attached to the nut member engaging in cam slots 15 in the bifurcated lever 18, 16. The mechanism is reset by screwing the nut member 3 back to its normal position, the spring 24 assisting the return of the piston 22 and lever 18.
