Abstract
433,453. Suspending curtains. FRENCH, G. F., Chester Road Mills, Hulme, Manchester. Nov. 17, 1933, No. 32044. [Class 52 (v)] A curtain rail c adapted to be sup ported either at its top edge or at one side of its lower edge is formed of T-sec tion along its top edge and of H-sec tion along its lower edge, the flanges being parallel-sided or bevelled. Each rail-supporting bracket b has at one end a rectangular enlargement b<1> with through holes lying at right angles, and at the other end an openended groove by which it may engage a rail flange and be held thereto by the head of a screw c. Fig. 1 shows the rail supported along its lower edge, the outside lower flange forming a track for the runner, and Fig. 6 shows in broken lines the bracket arranged to support the rail along its top edge, both lower flanges then being used as runner tracks. Instead of being inclined as shown the screw c may be horizontal or vertical. Cord guides d and pulley fittings may be attached to the rail in the same way as the brackets b. The enlargements b<1> may be shaped to form cord guides.
