431,863. Jointing tubes to headers. HOULDING, H., 389, New Hall Lane, Preston, Lancashire. Jan. 15, 1934, No. 1377. [Class 99 (i)] In a radiator - tube joint in which packing rings 9 are compressed in recesses in the header wall and around the tubes plates 10 each embracing a group of tubes are bolted to the header wall 6 to compress the rings. The rings may be of double conical or spherical form or may be of the shape shown in Fig. 4, having a neck 15 protruding through the opening in the plate. Specifications 315,934, [Class 99 (i)], and 362,505 are referred to.
